Yost Foods, Inc. Receives FDA Closeout Letter
We are pleased to announce that on March 24, 2020 Yost Foods received a “Closeout Letter” from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in regard to Warning Letter #581473 that was issued on September 10, 2019. A portion of the FDA Closeout Letter follows:
“Dear Mr. Yost:
The Food and Drug Administration has completed evaluation of your corrective actions in response to our Warning Letter #581473 that we issued on 9/10/2019. Based on our evaluation, it appears that you have addressed the violation(s) contained in this Warning Letter.”

This closeout letter from the FDA reflects the seriousness in which Yost Foods, Inc. approached the problem and the significant resources in both time and capital that we devoted to mitigating the issues.
Yost Foods, Inc. has always placed the highest commitment to providing quality food ingredients in the safest way possible, and it is a fundamental core philosophy in our operations. We have now devoted even more resources to ensuring we maintain the very highest levels of safe manufacturing. Those resources include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Implementing stricter environmental monitoring, and increasing the level and frequency of our environmental monitoring
- Investing in additional staff training, personnel, and supervision resources for our sanitation procedures
- Significant capital improvements to our facility, which were already in process before the FDA warning letter, to aid in sanitation practices
Our recent experience with the FDA has reminded us that when it comes to food safety, we must continually strive for even greater improvement in all areas of quality control. We feel strongly that the investments and improvements we have made to our operations and facility have made us a safer and stronger company for our customers.
